Post feminist

In a fringe meeting on Blair’s childcare proposals shortly after the Blair speech, Dame Sally Powell spoke on a platform with Children’s Minister Margaret Hodge welcoming the announcement on affordable childcare for all.

Sally is a charismatic and forthright speaker at the best of times but took the opportunity to lambast the audience for being massively gender-biased towards women, in the process making the few men at the meeting feel quite self-conscious.

As Sally stormed, “Childcare is not just a women’s issue it’s also a men’s issue and we will not succeed until more men come to meetings like this”, a timid and male whisper was heard saying, “I’m just here to pick up girls”.

  1. That wouldn’t have been your whisper, would it?

  2. It’s surprising isn’t it, that the ladies get so worked up about this.

Damn those feminists and their demand to be treated as equals. They really should be stopped from shouting too much about the BLATANT INEQUALITY in society today - so unladylike :-)
