My loyal readers. The Guardian’s Backbencher has again quoted from my modest site. I wouldn’t say her manner is unintelligent or cruel - but somehow, her attention always leaves me feeling just a little violated.
This certainly isn’t because she is doing anything untoward. It is because one reader is giving her information about me not available on this site. Of course, whoever you are, you know what I would say to this - and you probably know that having said my piece, I would not hold a grudge. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you are an honourable person or a snivelling coward - and we shall have that conversation if you decide you can handle minor confrontation and choose get in touch with me.
On a related matter, the Backbencher is hosting her second annual weblog awards and with almost 15,000 readers a month and numerous mentions in the young lady’s column, I hope Recess Monkey has a chance of getting his hairy hands on her glistening prize.
However, this will only happen if you are kind enough to nominate me, which you can do by clicking here.
And were you under the impression that Recess Monkey is no more? Heavens no! I have been inundated with volunteers to help keep the monkey well-fed. I shall merely cast my eye over contributions to maintain the stylistic consistency and to ensure that I don’t end up in the libel courts. Posting may slow down over Christmas but do expect activity to gear up again in the new year.
Happy holidays!
