  1. Okay so we couldn’t quite reach the almighty effort of +70.9 but we came close (sob, sob)…

  2. If you are Welsh…… you should be Rhys’s Monkeys
    yakky dah

  3. I put in answers that covered the total range, either 0 to 100%, or 1 to 1,000,000, for everything, and got back 38 which is:

“* better informed than 63% of people who’ve already taken the quiz”

The thing seems designed to penalize people who guess wrong more than people who admit they know nothing.

  4. Quite a lot of people seem upset that if you put a huge range from 1 to 1m, you still get some points. This is not a mistake - if you do this then you’re telling the quiz “I know that I don’t know the answer to this”‘.

Given that having the self-awareness to realise and admit when you don’t know something is essential in being a useful member of society, and that terrible political damage has often been wreaked by people too stubborn to do this, Chris has chosen to reward people who admit their ignorance. However, if you are informed (a la Monkey), you still do better.

  5. It’s a good point, though it’s terrifying then that by the survey’s count almost 2/3 of voters know less than nothing! Or maybe the well-informed ones have better things to do than muck around on the ‘net.

The saying that what hurts you is not what you don’t know but what you know that’s not true has been variously attributed, but makes sense … I’m always struck by polls that ask for opinions on questions of fact that are actually quite difficult to figure out.

Anyway, have a nice election and return all monkeys.
