Staffers at the Scottish Parliament have been moaning about the bloody awful school-dinner style food for years; now LibDem MSP Jamie Stone has joined in by sending the following email round the parliament so there’s at least a shadow of a chance they might get a cookbook out of the library. Scottish staffers have their fingers crossed.
PS - Recess Monkey hears the braised lamb is particularly horrible, to the point that some staffers have asked to see some provenance before the word “lamb” is used.
“I wonder if many MSPs agree with me that much of the food we are offered in the SP (although not in the members’ restaurant) is of fairly poor quality.
I am thinking in particular of breakfast - bacon, fried eggs, kippers etc.; all not great (in fact kippers revolting!) - and much of the lunch menu. By way of a comparison, try the lunches available in the National Gallery - miles better.
If on the other hand you think that this is merely Jamie in a bad mood, then ok. But if you agree, then we should do something about it - not least for the staff who are here all week.
