When Sir Christopher Meyer isn’t insulting Government Ministers and being ostracised by former colleagues, he runs the Press Complaints Commission, which today sent to MPs its quarterly briefing:
The most interesting entry this quarter was as follows…
Complainant
Mr John Redwood
Complaint
John Redwood MP complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article published in the Daily Mirror on 2nd April 2005 headlined “He’s not human… don’t vote for him” was inaccurate in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Code.
The complaint was not upheld
Perhaps Sir Christopher should be invited to expand further on his opinion of the former Welsh Secretary.
Recess Monkey doesn’t mean to insult fans of John Redwood, who is widely regarded as the best leader the Tories never had (or at least better than half the leaders they have had in the last decade).
Redwood fans may like to know that they can purchase his book, “The Death of Britain” on Amazon for 18p and worth every penny.
This is approximately 18p more than the free market value of this signed portrait of the elder statesman of planet Vulcan.

I actually have a signed copy of the ‘Death of Britain’ which I picked up at my university book fair. Anybody care to tell me its worth?

Well let’s see. If an unsigned copy is worth 18p, How about 17p for the signed copy to take into account the damage to the book.

I was reading Hansard again this morning.
“John Redwood Dead” was the headline.
(I repeat this merely because it seems to fit, and the fact that I had more hits from my last comment than ever before, and I’m greedy !)

Erm… why is the wording of this post exactly the same as the wording of this post:

Thanks Gregg,
I think Mr Ion might be better placed to answer that question.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t allow comments except from Blogger-registered types.
I had wondered if you’d both recieved some sort of talking point/round robin/press release thingy from the Praesidium, but judging from your subsequent post, apparently not.
