LibDems have set up a web petition to oust Charles Kennedy.
Mysteriously, there also seems to be a web petition in support of the embattled Highlander.

They fail to understand that no-one in the real world gives a toss…

Lib Dems always set up petitions, they can’t help themselves.
Look out for focus leaflets in the New year saying “Only Charles Kennedy can win here”.
And then when he is ousted it will be a “2 horse race” between Hughes and Oaten, or Campbell and Hughes, or Campbell and Oaten, or Lembit and Lembit - depending on what camp you are in.
I’m not surprised there is a “Save our Kennedy” petition - like with the Post Office is there any plans for the Lib Dems privatising him?
I bet the people who want Charles Kennedy out thought about standing next to him with a glum expression pointing seriously for their leaflet.
Rant. Over.

Except that petition has been set up by The Liberal magazine. Although of course some of those that have signed it will be Lib Dems.

I’ve done some digging and the Kennedy must go site has been registered to a Ben Ramm, editor of The Liberal magazine.
A quick Google search revealed the following verdict of his performance at a ICA debate:

Oozing charmlessness and viscous nasality, Ben Ramm is a hunched smarmy figure with little presence. He actually sounds like some kind of goblin, hepped up on goofballs and liberalism. We don’t mean to get unnecessarily personal but if it came to a choice between sharing a lift with Shane Richie or Ben Ramm, we’d plump for Richie every time. Ramm’s thrust, when he could finally manage to slither around to it, was that ‘The Lib-Dems represent the only real viable coherent alternative’ in British politics. From then on it was merely a case of alternately bigging up the Libs and dissing the government and getting slightly flustered when a sideswipe at George Galloway brought in a few mini- heckles. Ramm’s only redeeming moment was a nice remark he made about the Lib Dems not being interested in whether you have three Mercedes or not. Other than that, he was rubbish. Ungraded.
So they’ll be in safe hands then.

No, Who is David Tennant. Even I know that.

The “petition” is so laughably insubstantial I had to make my debut attempt at a parody site.

Kerron Cross - the man who claimed in the General Election that it was utter piffle that the Lib Dems could win in the seat he was standing in (which was true to as they did not win) yet he managed to lose his Labour candidacies previous second place to finish third after being displaced by the Lib Dems. A grudge, anyone?!?!?!

And it was utter piffle - as you just admitted!
Although I doubt I have ever used the words “utter piffle” in my life.
Anyway that’s the difference between me and the Lib Dems - I actually tell the truth!
But thanks for studying my career so closely, I’m flattered.
