Can you help to shape the future for building societies?
The Building Societies Association is the trade association for all UK building societies. It has a strong position as a representative body and is well respected for its representational, information and advisory role.
We are looking to recruit a Policy Adviser to play a key role in representing and advising our members on fraud, anti money laundering, the Banking Code and a range of associated regulatory issues. Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, this is a challenging position with a considerable amount of responsibility and autonomy.
We would like to hear from candidates who are self-starters with the following qualities:
A degree level education.
At least five years relevant experience since qualification (ideally gained in the financial services sector or a trade association).
Policy analysis skills with an ability to see wider, strategic issues and to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent presentation, writing and diplomatic skills to meet the responsibilities of making representations on members’ interests to Government, regulators and opinion formers, as well as giving guidance to members on a broad range of business issues and legislation.
A self-motivated and proactive approach.
Benefits include membership of a group personal pension scheme, 26 days annual holiday, membership of BUPA, life assurance and permanent health insurance. Salary will be dependent on experience.
If you are interested in our post please write, giving full career and salary details, to Melanie Snelgrove, Personnel Officer, The Building Societies Association, 3 Savile Row, London W1S 3PB. Alternatively, e-mail your application to melanie.snelgrove@bsa.org.uk.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 17 February 2006.
