Italian Minister Roberto Calderoli has been sporting a very fetching Prophet Mohammed cartoon tshirt, triggering a riot, some impromptu arson, and ten fatalities at the Italian embassy in Libya.
Signor Calderoli hails from the Italian version of Veritas, and shares the cultural sensitivities of Robert “I like the Spanish but I don’t trust them” Kilroy-Silk. By comparison, though, the Tangoed former chatshow host pales beside his Mediterranean counterpart, who has in recent weeks suggested that an alliance with Pope Benedict XVI would really take the fight to Islam (again). Presumably the Swiss Guards would immediately stop checking passes at the Vatican gates and rush off to take on the Syrians….
