BBC News at 10 on a Saturday night, right before Match of the Day, has to be one of the most-watched news bulletins in the country.
It was remarkably convenient then, that when presenter Darren Jordan was handing over to a Westminster correspondent to discuss the dispute over a peerage for Labour donor Chai Patel, the link to the BBC’s Millbank studios went dark.
The studio link to Millbank is used in almost every bulletin for the Westminster coverage, and throughout the day on BBC News 24. How surprising that it would fail at a time like that when millions of people might be watching.
And was the story returned to at the end of the programme? Sadly not. Maybe the BBC is patching up its differences with No.10…
And here’s Rob Bonnet with the sport. Wayne Rooney is apparently “writing” a five volume autobiography. One might wonder what a twenty year-old would find to fill five volumes, as he’s hardly an Alan Clark or Tony Benn, however one needs to put these things in perspective. It’s only one volume for every year that he’s been toilet-trained.

An insider informs Red Tamarin that the blackout on Saturday prompted much swearing at the BBC studios. It sounds the like the No.10 operatives weren’t in the mood to ask nicely.
The informant also says that they saw a mouse underneath Huw Edward’s desk the other night. At the risk of getting tautological, is BBC News infested with both No.10 sympathisers and vermin?

Aren’t Ghost Writers a wonderful thing? They can make celebrities sound like how they think they should sound, regardless of how dim they are in real life.
