Oaten’s opening covered again

Congratulations for speedy reporting go to Jon Henley on the Guardian Diary for noticing that Mark Oaten needs a new researcher.

It’s only twelve days since the job advert was noted by recess monkey, and six days since the deadline for applications closed.

It is Jon Henley who should really be looking for an “opening elsewhere”. The Guardian Diary has become increasingly witless since he took over - an impressive achievement considering the inconsistency it suffered during months of being shuffled between a number of hacks.

Can we hold off from being too mean to the Guardian - I’d rather like a highly-paid column at some point.

  1. 12 days since it was monkey noticed it. That must make it 13 days since I gave Monkey a hat-tip on it.

  2. i mean tip-off, of course

  3. Still giving Monkey your tip eh…

  4. His diary is two weeks out of date.

To be fair, once when remonstrating with him, he did explain that he didn’t have access to the interweb on his desk.

I thought he was joking, but maybe not..

  5. Quite frankly my dear we’re not being anything like mean enough to the Guardian, a once great newspaper but sadly not one anymore. Mind you compared to the increasingly out there somewhere Indy it does at least still look vaguely like a newspaper rather than an edition of Swivel Eyed Conspiracy Theorists Weekly.
