Security Monitoring

Red Tamarin has discovered that two computer monitors from his office have been stolen. Nicked, nabbed, robbed, thieved, half-inched…gone. His boss hasn’t touched them, and recent interns haven’t had passes, so they couldn’t have taken them anywhere.

There were two old monitors sitting unused (for the moment at least) under a desk in the office. I can only assume that the cleaners thought they were being helpful by taking them away, despite the fact that equipment deposited outside in the corridor for collection is usually left untouched for weeks.

Because they were nicely stored away from view under the desk, I’ve no real idea how long ago they were taken, but the two unused computers they were used with are still safely concealed in one of the office cupboards. I suppose it’s no great loss whilst I have shiny new Dell machines to work on now, but I wasn’t planning to throw them away any time soon.

Let this be a lesson to everyone on the Estate not to leave their property unguarded overnight, even in locked offices.

  1. Let’s hope that this theft receives the same level of police interest and investigative effort as the mysterious flower shop affair has.

  2. Damn. Missed those computers. Will come back next week and liberate those too…..

  3. I doubt you’ll see them again. We got a brand new shredder, and it disappeared that night, never to be seen again.

  4. Yawn.

    Interesting stories only please.
