Prime Ministers Questions has possibly been relegated to only the third most interesting event in the House tomorrow. We kick off with questions to the Deputy Prime Minister (and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster), and the very first question up is:
* 1 Mr Greg Hands (Hammersmith & Fulham): To ask the Deputy Prime Minister, which casinos he has visited in the course of his Ministerial duties since 1st May 1997
All fun and games then. And following PMQs, we have a Ten Minute Rule Bill on Samurai Swords - guaranteed to provide either some amusement or some gory tales.
Red Tamarin is hoping at least one MP exercises his (or her) right to bring a sword into the Chamber.

I remember when some nutter tried to kill Nigel (now Lord) Jones with a samurai sword at one of his surgeries and killed his assistant, Andrew Pennington, instead. Shouldnt there be some sort of plaque or something to Pennington? He got the George Medal in the end for saving Jones’ life.

Just FYI…MPs don’t have the right to bring a sword into the Chamber. They have little hooks in their cloakrooms to hang their swords up. The only person who’s allowed to bring a sword into the chamber is the Serjeant@Arms.
