Just when you thought the membership details fiasco couldn’t get any worse, or more ridiculous, it has done.
A dashing source has told me that a long-serving Labour backbencher received his new membership card recently, to find that his CLP was listed incorrectly. When he phoned up the Membership Team to get it corrected, he was assured the information was accurate, to which he replied “No it’s not - I should know as I’m the Member of Parliament for the area.”
Sadly the reply from the Membership Team is not known
