The self-declared jihadist group, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC) has attacked MP Phil Woolas, Minister for Local and Community Cohesion, for dismissing their views as “crap”.
Their criticism of the Government centred around a consultation exercise.
“The governments ”tackling extremism” and consultation with Muslims road show kicked off in Bolton earlier this week. Whether the aim of the event was to consult or insult the Muslim community, the end result was a meaningless farce.
The proposed aim of the event was to address ‘how to tackle extremist ideologies and prevent young people being drawn into extremism. A rational approach to any problem would be first to identify/define the problem and then look at its causes before proposing a solution.
The government and its representatives have still failed to define what they define as extremism. The Minister Phil Woolas readily related religion to extremism and by extension terrorism, while the consensus of the group, to the contrary maintained that extremism and terrorism are linked to political and not religious motives”.
Hmmm, isn’t promoting jihad possibly a good definition of religious extremism? Having read the wikipedia definition of jihad, I’m in two minds.years.
One commenter on the site - under the pseudonym “SirB” - said of Woolas,
“Yet again, Jewish people are being given important tasks and roles in determining the future of the country. I say again, how can we expect any fair or unbaised treatment when the facilitators are of Jewish ethnic origin? What can we expect of Woolas when his creed teaches him that we Muslim Gentiles are ‘Amalek’, who deserve to wiped off the face of the earth, inc our women and children? Its like putting a KKK member in charge of Black people. Anyone see the irony here?”
Hmmm, Phil Woolas has a secret agenda to wipe Muslims off the face of the planet? Obviously, the commenter isn’t coked up to the eyeballs - but accusing one of parliament’s most vociferous anti-racist MPs of being like a member of the KKK rather sounds like extremism to me.

I have no time for the MPAC but, to be fair, Woolas is a bully-boy of the worst kind, and always has been since his TU days.
I wouldn’t shed any tears for his electoral demise.

I’ll happily define extremism for the racist hate mongers of MPACUK - THEMSELVES! Phil Woolas may or may not be a bully boy, I have not enough knowledge of him to comment but he is absolutely right on this one and if MPACUK are attacking him solely for being Jewish, as seems to be the case from the posted excerpt then they sinply provce once again that it is them and their ilk who are the problem and not the Labour party or the Government.

Whoops! You New Labour types are regularily shooting yourselves in the foot, and you haven’t got the sense to stop shooting. Woolas met with MPACUK, presumably to listen to their veiws. Whatever he thought of them, he’s a dick for saying to their faces that what they say is “crap”.
If you can’t spot where the problem lies here, more fool you. If MPACUK are the demons you claim, he’s a double-dick for consulting them in the first place. Keep shooting, as long as it’s not my foot you’re hitting, I’m happy.

The problem is the fact that extremists like MPAC exist in the 1st place.

Don’t you just love being told what to think by Ruth ‘Opus Dei’ Kelly, probably the worst dressed and coiffeured presenter that nu-labour have ever produced. How can you tale a religeous freak with a squeaky voice with a lousy hairdo and incredibly unfashionable clothes seriously, even if the message was coherent, sensible and objectively based, which it wasn’t.
I now know that HM Blair is as mad a hatter and that’s probably being unfair to people in the hat business.

Actually Lobster I’m a Tory as regular readers of Recess Monkey have tended to notice. Having said that you are right to say that anyone is a double dick for consulting MPACUK who ought to be prosecuted for inctement to racial hatred not consulted.

Sorry Matt. My comments above were directed at the original post, and I could have made that clearer.
Having said that, if you want others to understand why you believe why MPACUK are “racist hate mongers” you will need to give an example.

Lobster, I suggest you go and have a surf around their website at;http://www.mpacuk.org/
I note that some of the more outrageous and inflammatory stuff has been removed since last week, probably in the wake of their Inigo Jones “victory” which no doubt increased their traffic, but if you explore a bit you’ll find plenty of, in particular, downright antisemitic stuff and similar.

They have a record of attacking people simply for being Jewish - even those who aren’t.
They put out a leaflet during the last General Election telling Muslims in Rochdale not to vote for the sitting Labour MP - Lorna Fitzsimons - on the basis that she was Jewish. Except she wasn’t.
Cue hand-wringing “Do we demand an apology? How would THAT look?” discussions…

Matt, I did, but just like you I couldn’t find any examples.

Looks like they removed the comment you captured above, although a response from Al demonstrates that it was there once ..

Anyone who watched MPAC for longer than five minutes will at once realize they are a deeply anti-Semitic vile organizing body to promote a version of Islam which is at odds with the majority of British Muslims. Recently, in regards to the Irving case, they took information directly from a far-right neo-Nazi website and reposted it the MPAC website completely unedited. I think any organization that flirts with neo-Nazi anti-Semites deserves government ridicule, especially when the government in question is a progressive social democrat one.
Attacking Woolas for his “heritage” is just the thin edge of the wedge, MPAC are a thoroughly nasty group elements of whom sympathize with Hizb-ut Tahrir (the even nastier Caliphate-promoting group who emerged from Omar Bakri’s first UK organization).

Yes, why pussy-foot around? Don’t “consult” MPAC, prosecute them for incitement to racial hatred, which is what they do. Their spokesman Asghar Bukhari the other day on the BBC Asian Network repeatedly refused to deny that they use far-right material on thier website, it is not hard to find, though they seem to keep putting stuff up there and then taking it down when it’s spotted by those who do not share their agenda. One gem very recently was “all paedophiles are Jews”. More worrying than their existence in my view is the fact that views like theirs are preached every week in the mosques of England. I didn’t know Phil Woolas was Jewish - does it matter? Is it relevant? Answwers please…

You’d be surprised how many “Jews” Islamic extremists can find. The Jewish ex-editor of Channel 4 News (not known for its Zionist outlook) recieved a copy of “Zionists in the Media”, it said that every member of Channel 4 news were Jewish. The lady in question said, “This came as quite a surprise to me as many of my staff were of from British Black & Asian ethnic minorities!”
