Young at heart, free of mind, loose of lip

VOTE NOW AND STOP TORY HQ WINNING

With the voting deadline at midday tomorrow, Recess Monkey is hereby throwing his weight behind Andrew Young in his candidacy for National Chairman of Conservative Future (CFUK).

Andrew’s outstanding contribution to the campaign has been his utter disaffection with the process and the interference from Tory HQ, whose backing is claimed by photofit Tory Boy Mark Clarke.

At one point, Tory HQ ordered Andrew to remove from his campaign blog a video clip of his hustings speech - evidently fearful that his unassuming, unpolished style would make their slick “player” candidate look bad.

While Young is still a Tory and I cannot endorse his political incorrectness, his sentiment was clear when he stated at the London hustings - to rapturous Tory applause - “Running for Chairman of CFUK is much like being in the special olympics. You might win a gold medal, but you’re still a retard”.

Young has since tried to withdraw from the contest due to the help being afforded to favoured son Mark Clarke - yet Tory HQ has refused to accept or publicise his withdrawl - fearful that it will give him martyr status and help him form a dissafected grassroots faction.

I say vote now for the guy that doesn’t want the job. It’s clearly the best qualification for getting it.

  1. Ummm…bullshit

Unless you have info I don’t, Mark doesn’t have backing from CCHQ. Any sources to back that up?

“fearful that it will give him martyr status and help him form a dissafected grassroots faction.” - right, from the guy whose entire campaign has consisted of a free blog and campaign emails to friends and CF chairmen. I can see me sweeping the mongolian steppes with my barbarian hordes, but otherwise more bullshit.

And finally, an apology RE repeating the poor taste joke, my point was that that is the sort of abuse I have been getting all year (and during the campaign), but no doubt it will be lost amidst the gales of laughter.

    Glad I’m retiring…

(P.S- You’re worried about political correctness? From the Monkey who wrote “Jews need not apply” and calls Rehman Chesti “The spokesman for brown people”. Hmmm…)

  2. Another Tory who can’t be bothered to spell CHISHTI properly - and I think you’ll find his actual title is “Brown Tsar”.

I do have a source actually on the Mark Clarke CCHQ backing. I have a quote from a reliable source of Mark saying, “Central Office asked me to stand”.

Sounds like CCHQ backing if you ask me.

And don’t think you can get rid of my endorsement any easier than you can your own candidacy. It’s all a conspiracy - get used to it.

  3. Excuse me Monke you have betrayed your loyalty to Annesley I am disgusted.

  4. It wasn’t rapturous applause after the joke. It was a chorus of the pc brigade getting up and saying how offensive it was. It’s quite true and funny though.

  5. I’ve also been in earshot of Mark Clarke boasting that he was asked to stand by “the high-ups” in Central Office because of the lack of quality candidates. I think he’s an arrogant c*ck.

  6. Hey Recess, Thanks for taking such an interest in my campaign - two postings in a couple of days, I’m flattered. I am delighted that a Labour blogger is so keen to have a “Stop Clarke” campaign - I must be doing something right. So far your column has implied that I’m an anti-semitic, racist, socialist turncoat CCHQ plant. Hmmm or maybe not.

As you rightly imply in an election of the voluntary party going around claiming that one is backed by Central Office is probably the kiss of death. I guess that’s why my opponents are spreading it.

You have also managed to be so wrong that even my opponent, Andrew, is defending me. Thanks for uniting CF!

I note that no-one ever covers Young Labour elections. Is that because it is too piss-small to bother with? Oh no, it’s because you’re “democratic” party doesn’t bother with elections for its youth wing - you just appoint a load of Head Office stooges. Still want to play games on the subject of HQ plants?

  7. Clarkey boy, calm down me old mucker. The reason why CF elections are covered by gossipy blogs like is that angry young cfuk’s like yourself get so het up about innocious comments! No one really cares about CF, it’s just that CF elections produce a kind of train wreck that you just have to watch. Last time it was Abercorn, and this time it’s you going of the boil everytime you are mentioned. If you really want a career in politics, me boy, you are going to have to grow a thick skin.

  8. Yes Mark, aren’t you supposed to be on the A list - I’d love to be selected against you if you’re that easy to wind up. I have implied nothing - I have said whatever I have stated and anything else has been the product of your guilty Tory conscience.

I miss Annesley. You don’t get quality and style like his these days. Precisely NO CFUKers were endorsed by Sir Peter Stringfellow this year.

  9. Think you are going to be selected anywhere this time round Recess?
