Meeja Hoorin’

Recess Monkey has been touring the TV studios, defending vociferously the work of MP Sion Simon, currently under attack for suggesting David Cameron would pimp out his wife to anyone who would believe he’s a normal guy.

I just can’t work out what they’re upset about. He’d surely pimp out his own grandmother if it meant he could avoid talking about a policy, wouldn’t he?

Swivel-eyed, felt-hatted loons in the Tory Party have been calling for Sion’s head to be presented on a plate and for him to remove the offending opus from YouTube. What do you think? Please vote in the sidebar poll. *(incidentally, those with an interest in the previous poll can rest assured that Poo is indeed funny according to 65% of respondents).

  1. You must have taken a lot of abuse, if you think that what Simon dished out is normal stuff. Are you certain your decision to defend Simon is “on-message”? You might end up looking like a pillock when Senior Labourites such as Straw pull the rug from under him.

Oh, by the way I have some words uttered by Simon that you would probably consider racist if said by a Tory.

  2. Recess this is below you, no really it is.

  3. Recess I have just watched Simon’s appalling interview on Sky via Guido’s link and I cannot believe that you can genuinely want to defend this patently total tosser. Like I said, this is below you.

  4. 1. I don’t clear what I think or say with Jack Straw before I think or say it. Neither is “on-message” significantly important to me, pillock or no.

    2. Having watched the video, do you truly think it is at all offensive? Even if you don’t think it’s funny?

  5. I find the video unhinged more then offensive. If I were Cameron I wouldn’t want it removed. From a party political point of view we need to give Sion as much airtime as possible.

I’m just thinking about how you look, RM, when Sion gets carted off by the men in white coats.

  6. The initial complaint was a desperate attempt by the Tories to gain publicity for webcameron - which included David Cameron shamefully prostituting his family instead of simply engaging with the online community in a straightforward and open fashion (which he could have done without video and without the ‘accidental’ backdrops). I’m not at all surprised to see Guido Teh Tory Pimp whoring the ’story’ so fervently. The Tories, just like the Blairites, have nothing but contempt for the online community.

Monkey, I loved what you said on the Beeb last night. Well done. Ignore the ditto-heads.

  7. The clip is funny. Plus it gets a simple message across about the Eton fraudster. Unlike Tim above I am suprised that the Tory’s undercover pimp has bigged this story up. He usually avoids mentioning the things he doesn’t like. Giving this story oxygen seems to indicate that the bonfire ornament thinks he can lead opinion, rather than just comment on it caustically. Shome mishsteak, shurely?

  8. I think the idea’s fine but he could have spent a bit more time trying to work out what he was going to say. I read this morning in the paper that it was largely ad-libbed. Well, you could never tell!

  9. The fact remains if a Tory had made a similar joke about Blair’s wife, Guido would have loved it - and for the morons in his comment boxes to be calling this disgusting… hmm.

Got to agree with RM on this one.

  10. Gosh. It’s nice to get some supportive comments for a change

  11. it is not offensive, it just demonstrates what a twat sion simon is and the extent to which nulab are filling their pants over cameron. keep up the good work sion, you are doing a wonderful service for the tories.

  12. Oh, but it is offensive. It simply *must* be offensive. To suggest otherwise might lead some to the shocking realisation that Cameron prostituted his family and Sion is now being pilloried for pointing that out.

  13. All I can say about Mr Simon from watching him on Sky is that he was incredibly rude and obviously smarting from the negative publicity he was getting. The Tories must be loving it.

  14. Sion Simon’s attempt at “street talk” in the video makes me cringe. Is he really proud of this video? Anyone who defends this video should remember the saying “one fool makes many!”

  15. Piss off. I’m with the fools!

  16. Why are we elevating Sion being a twat to such significance? It just hands ammo to the Tories, much like Dave the Chameleon. Once the Labour Party was above this kind of personal mudslinging. Have we got that desperate since 1997?

Having watched both the video blog and his disasterous Sky News apperance, I’m firmly of the opinion that Sion should apologise and naff off. Like Tom Watson - no Tory is making headway by pointing him out, are they?
