Iraq Inquiry - A Certainty

New evidence has come to light that the Iraq Inquiry vote is certain to pass this afternoon.

In a website gaffe that is reminiscent of recent Tory ‘accidental’ leaks, a source at No. 10 has given the game away.

Edit - Oh Dear - Now the vote’s gone the other way, it looks like Cherie may be short a few bob for a while. Expect a few more after-dinner engagements soon.

  1. EErrr….No.

  2. I thought maybe those who are left-leaning would leave the needless Cherie-bashing to the Daily Mail.

    Apparently not!

  3. I think Recess Monkey needs to make his mind up - is he going to try to break stories that get followed up or is he just going to make jokes against the establishment? i know which i think is clever…

  4. We’re happy doing both, thanks all the same. Recess Monkey has a proud history of stupid/puerile jokes and gossip alongside more serious/insightful stories. And probably more of the former than the later at that :)

  5. Quite frankly spiker, I’m still waiting for the story about Cherie Blair and Alistair Campbell signing and auctioning-off The Hutton Report to be followed-up.

Maybe the follow-up could take the form of an apology from them for making light of a report into someone’s death.

I think it quite ‘clever’ to remember these things and not dismiss them as anomalies once a statute of limitations has been reached.

And, with this in mind, Steve, if you are saying the left cannot make valid criticisms of ‘their own’ (or those who claim to be on the left), then just come straight out as an advocate for censorship.
You may call it ‘needless Cherie-Bashing’, I do not. I do think the phrase you use is a good example of ’spin’.
