The Guardian reports that science in Britain’s schools coming under threat from ‘Intelligent Design’, a re-packaged version of Creationism that has been pushed heavily in America in recent years. Secondary schools across the country have been sent classroom resource packs describing evolution as a flawed theory and “false”, whilst presenting Creationism (for which there’s obviously so much more scientific evidence) as an alternative.
Last week MPs were posted a copy of a DVD attempting to present the scientific evidence for Creation in the classroom. I finally got around to watching it this afternoon.
And it was bollocks.
The “scientific” argument for the opening 15mins of the video involved the picking apart of a 2003 Biology exam paper, by quoting books written in the 1950s. Exam papers are hardly the best place to set out the the basis for evolution, but the argument is pretty weak if the best you can come up with as convicting evidence is text books that are 50 years old.
Anyway, the DVD says specifically on the back that one must not copy, hire or sell it without written permission. In the pursuit of annoying Creationists, will anyone offer to buy it from me for the princely sum of £0.02?
On the bright side, Americans have resisted the insidious creep of evangelical religion into their classrooms. I refer you to the fantastic work of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Scrybe, you met the asking price, the DVD is yours to do with as you wish. Drop me an email and I’ll put it in the post.
Johninnit - I think the DVD case is definitely worth 1p and the DVD itself can be used as a coaster and interesting talking point on any coffee table, so that just about justifies another 1p
Cmdr.Adama - I am glad to know you are also a true Pastafarian like myself.
pmd - I could stick it on YouTube, but I feel it would be a waste of the computing time it would take me to rip the DVD and my bandwidth uploading it! There are some things I think I’d better to keep off the work computers!
