Apparently Mark “Ogden” Clarke changed his name to Clarke to sound like the Tory heroes Alan Clark and Kenneth Clarke as opposed to sounding like the 1967 classic concept album by The Small Faces, Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake, is this true? If it is, is his claim that - “I never lie - ever” - slightly dubious? Changing your name is a bit of a whopper of sorts isn’t it? Once again, apologies if my facts are wrong here but why call yourself somehting for the first 20 years of your life then change it? It’s not like you were christened Randy Farquhar is it? Although maybe that name would have been more apt if rumour is to be believed.
