David Cameron, Boris Johnson and other senior Tories have this evening been prevented from voting on the Pensions Bill. The Division Bell rang, they left their offices, but were thwarted in their attempt to reach the Chamber by “a malfunctioning door”. Perhaps they were outwitted by a door that wasn’t opened for them by their manservants…
Deputy Speaker Silvia Heal announced an immediate investigation, and twenty minuts later a temporary solution was announced in the Commons Chamber - a policeman will stand by the door for the rest of the day to open it for them until it can be fixed. So the Tories got their manservant in the end. Hurrarh!

Of course, this isn’t the first time that senior Tories have had trouble opening Parliamentary doors…
