Desperation isn’t pretty

Poor Guido. Having seen his dreams of a cash for honours scandal disappear, along no doubt with his money, he’s now clinging to the idea of launching a private prosecution. Straws in the wind…

I invite you to consider the words of Hamer Shawcross:

“It appears that loans-for-lordships has hit the buffers. As the late, great Oscar Wilde once said, it would take a heart of stone not to laugh at Guido’s predicament. He’s been confidently pushing this one for what seems like forever, but like every other “campaign” he’s waged (remember shop-a-SpAd? What happened there?) he’s ended up with egg on his face. In traditional Guido style, he’s chosen to assuage his pain by posting a picture of one of Those Labour Gays and inviting his readers post something grim about said gentleman. Still never mind.”

Has Guido peaked? Cash for Honours and his now infamous Newsnight appearance could be seen as political blogging at the height of its (negative) powers, but what now? I could certainly see Iain Dale overtaking him comfortably in the future.

Isn’t schadenfreude wonderful?

  1. Gosh …so few comments on this blog. You appear to have dropped off the radar Alex - must be gutting after putting in all that effort to desparately try and generate some sort of media presence ( your TV defence of that Bunny Eyed Cretin Sion Simon was particularly amusing)..I am enjoying watching your slow failure

  2. Of course Guido has faded out. It’s not just Newsnight and his huge error on cash for honours … remember all the blogs about how badly Brown would do based on hypothetical polls? Then we had the deputy leadership fiasco. Now he’s backing Boris. He’s making terrible errors of judgement, but mainly because he’s totally blinkered pro-Tory anti-Labour when he should be true to his forebear and anti the lot. I fear he has lost the plot, if you’ll pardon the pun.

  3. Hmmm….a slightly better performance on GMTV- ( and you did have the good grace to post my 1st spiteful little comment) You should invest in a darker suit and don’t put so much product in your hair, as the bright studio lights can make it seem wet or greasy. Use a matt spray instead or dry wax.
