Obviously not a lot happens in Parliament during recess. The Palace authorities do their damndest to make researchers’ lives a misery by closing the bars at 3pm, shutting most of the food outlets, and doing noisy and disruptive engineering works in as many places as possible. It’s as if they think we’re not doing any work…
So a few announcements:
First is the sad news that Barry’s Beef is finally closing for good. Parliament will be a duller place when Senor Beef departs to become a teacher, and not just because of the absence of his gaudy shirts. We will miss him.
I’m aware that accessing this site on the Parliamentary network seems to have become interminably slow, for reasons unknown. It’s happening for me too, and as soon as I can badger Recess Monkey into fixing it the better. It seems to be fine if you have the link to an individual post, but as soon as you try to view the main page it freezes up for 2mins or more. If anyone has any ideas why, let me know.
Finally, in the absence of much news to report I will try to maintain regular posting by providing you with my favourite links and timewasters - as I know you won’t be doing any work really.
