There has been some debate recently about gay magazine Pink News’ decision to accept advertising from The Conservative Party. Just as a reminder, when, Ashley Crossley, the Tories’ candidated in Falmouth & Cambourne in 2005 was discovered to be homosexual, one of his own party activists is said to have told him, “People like you ought to be stuffed in a wheelie bin and pissed on”.
The Tories, strangely, chose not to run the ad below…

…I wonder why…

I think the Tory proposal includes giving said tax breaks to couples with civil partnerships too. Under the Equality Act, it would be hard not to. And I don’t think that party activist typified the party line these days - note the front bench support for equal access to goods and services, including adoption, earlier this year.

Plus most Tory MPs are gay anyway aren’t they?

I don’t think one comment by one conservative in one local issue is enough to bring down a national political advertising campaign.
And I’m very confident that it is not just the Conservative Party who think that marriage should be supported more.

It shouldn’t matter gay or not. However for clarification some would argue declaration before usage. I’m not in agreement with that. People ought to be able to discuss without predeclaration of a gay attribute or not.
