Denizens of Parliament will have seen the splendid collection of photos in Portcullis House taken of the various staff of the Houses of Parliament - from the Serjeant at Arms to Gladys the tea lady, clock maintenance to security staff. But of the 50 or so photos on the wall, how many MP’s staff are included? Just one.
Once again the vast army of MP’s support staff are under-represented, our work largely unrecognised; a situation thrown into sharp relief during recess with the facilities of the House closed all around us.
Perhaps I should print out photos from the Recess Monkey Facebook group and stick them up on a wall somewhere…

No photos of you?? Perhaps the photographer didn’t manage to make it to the Red Lion where you people seem to do most of your fine work. Or maybe he just couldn’t climb the stairs up to the roof where you were all busy inbreeding? It really must be tough for you when you find something that Daddy’s money can’t buy for you.
If you really feel such a need to see your photographs on public display then why not take advantage of one of the local phone boxes??
