The Sun are sponsoring a double decker bus that’s driving round Parliament Square at the moment with a banner that reads “Europe: Never have so few, decided so much” and playing Land of Hope and Glory from loudspeakers.
I don’t know quite who they’re trying to sell this message to. Labour is in Bournemouth, the Lib Dems are recovering from Brighton, and Brian Haw and his cadre have got enough issues to be exercised about already. It’s a lot of effort to go to just to reach Ken Clarke…

Perhaps it’s how the Tories are cheering themselves up right now. Did you notice who was driving? I have visions of William Hague at the wheel. As you mention that the vehicle in question is a double decker perhaps Boris Johnson will hop on board and use it to double up as part of his campaign against the bendy bus. As for Ken Clarke he will just point out that Churchill wanted a federal Europe. To be fair the both William and Boris I would credit both of them with having this knowledge.
