Teather Action

Reading the Guardian this morning, I discovered that Nick Clegg plans a campaign of civil disobedience when ID cards are introduced and has promised not to give the government any information on his identity. Which is a pity because the government makes up about 80% of the total number of people who know of his identity in the first place.

I wonder if he will follow this up with a pledge to keep his identity hidden from the electorate by cunningly adopting a disguise. Perhaps he will disguise himself as David Cameron while simultaneously disguising the LibDems as the Conservative Party?

Despite a strong campaign for Brian Blessed lookalike David Heath, the bearded MP is running second in the Recess Monkey Poll and has contacet me personally to confirm he will, on this basis, be withdrawing from the contest. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!

Surprise poll-topper is Sarah Teather with the support of 27% of RM readers. Clegg is supported by 19% equalling Charles Kennedy, Chris Huhne gets 5%, equal to Steve Webb and behind a surprisingly strong Mark Oaten at 11%.

Teather is rumoured to have the personal support of MP Alastair Carmichael and a certain newspaper’s Brussels correspondent - but one shouldn’t take too much stock of rumours.
