Yates part II

Metropolitan Police decide today whether there is to be a new investigation into party funding. Will Inspector Yates be given an opportunity to settle old scores? Meanwhile, the Met is investigated for its own £4.7m fraud allegations.

Incidentally, if any readers find they have £600,000 in their bank accounts unexpectedly, Recess Monkey will be very happy to accept your funding under any name you like.

  2. er yes, but where is the filth

  3. What??? You’re writing about a labour donations scandal now recess? Things must’ve got bad for Labour if even this blog is noticing they’re a bunch of corrupt b@stards.

  4. Just so you can’t plead the ignorance card (although any lawyer would tell you ignorance of the law is meaningless) you would have to register the donation on the researcher’s register of interests.

  5. You have been curiously quiet about this whole scandal. Why so ?

  6. Although it sounds good to say “The money will be returned” It is nothing more than a good spinninmg sound bite.

Will somebody please tell the PM that under the law (PPERA 2000) this dodgy monet cannot be returned - it is forfeit!

Onbviously, having demonstrated their lamentable ingorance of (their own) law, advice from Labour appartchicks on this point is worthless, so perhaps Recess Monkey could do the decent thing?

  7. Recess it is at times like this when we discover whether Alex Hilton is a man of principle, in which case you will both cover and condemn the Labour funding scandal, or a party hack so divorced from reality and the truth by his dogged pursuit of preferment that he thinks that this is either perfectly ok or something that can be spun away. So do tell us, which is it to be then?

  8. can’t i just be disappointed Mr Angry?

  9. You could be disappointed, but then that would require integrity, intellectual curiosity and judgement. 3 things which even a simpleton can appreciate you lack!

Keep going Hilton, your deathless thrashing aroung is quite a joy to behold to everyone who has long since picked you out for the hateful ignoramus you truly are!

Don’t worry, sir humphrey will be about soon to blow smoke up your arse and you won’t feel so entirely worthless!

  10. Fishcake, If you are a Tory of the Thatcherite variety may I remind you that Margret Thatcher said something along the lines of liking it when people turned to personal attack because that meant that they had run out of good political argument.

  11. Now now Fishcake, that isn’t entirely fair and of course Recess is entitled to be disappointed, as are all those who belived that this time it would be different and that New Labour were actually going to hold to high moral standards as they claimed they were.

Ultimately this just seems to prove that old chestnut about the Tories being brought down by sexual sleaze and Labour by financial sleaze. The LimpDums of course wold like to be seen as in favour of both types of political sleaze just in case anyone were to make the mistake of thinking that they actually believe in any single thing, other than pr voting, wholly and unequivocally just for once.

  12. Copy copy. Now cleared for countdown.

  13. Oddly enough , i find the small lies abottheleat sleazy thing about the the L
