Isn’t it funny how the tory blogging establishment has been utterly silent on the revelation that so much of their work on the bill this week has come from a bunch of hate-filled religious fruitcakes who seem to have easy access to extremists like nadine. Funny that.
Loops. Note how the Tory blogosphere swoops on anyone who dares to criticise the lovely Nad, even though she’s their own worst enemy, being mad as a box of badgers and making no attempt to hide it.
Thankfully it looks like their dogma will be beaten down in the Commons tonight.
Dorries involvement in this is certainly questionable. But I can’t help but feel this was edited in a way which leant more on intrigue rather than fact. For example after Andrea thingy turned off her microphone when she was skewered we never saw what happened next.
The basic premise of moving from 24 to 20 weeks doesn’t strike me as extreme in itself, and I’d generally be in favour of a small reduction, though nothing drastic. Though If I’m honest I might be rather more worried about what path it might be taking us down….
Er, Fishcake old fruit, we probably didn’t see what happened next because there’s little point in filming someone who has turned their microphone off, you’d just open yourself up to greater accusations of partial interpretation.
As for the ‘reduction’, I think you’ve probably answered your own question there.
“Islam rejects Christ?” Quite obviously the fundamentalist nut job in the clip has no idea what she is talking about- how apt that Mad Nad has hitched her boots to this rabble…
More details on some points, but not news to some of us. I have documents showing he links between the fourps that I would call the “UK Christian Right”. Pity the reporter didn’t follow-up Ms Williams comments on Islam by asking her about Catholicism…
Nibster and Paul - Islam rejects Jesus as the Christ - (ie the anointed son of God), but instead claims Jesus as a prophet - re-badged as ‘Isa’ with some radical re-writing of the story, including very significant differences as part of the process. ( Since the Gospels were written in the living memory of people who witnessed the events, with more than one account, and are backed up by other sources at the time their account deserves to be taken seriously.)
So the statement “Islam rejects Christ” is justifiable and, it seems to me, also true. Given the radical re-write of the story of Jesus I would suggest they also reject him and replaced him with the information Mohammed provided roughly 600 years later. (I think the Muslim argument would be that Christians corrupted the information they had 600 years previously and Mohammed was putting the record straight, but could be corrected here-no pun intended.)
It might look like hair splitting, but it isn’t. (Chris I think you were in effect saying some of this anyway).
The Christianity and Islam both believe in the same Jesus is up there with the Islam means peace mime that was about a few years ago - I don’t see how it stands up to scrutiny. ( What is perhaps worse is that it was suggested in the first place by people who must have known it not to be true.)
Funny i spoke to a labour person from devon who when a labour mp went to see a convicted terrorist is prison he stated “everyone has the right to speak to an mp”

Andrea also drafts amendments for a large number of Labour MPs, Brian Iddon for one. Be careful Alex.

2 - well maybe Mr Iddon should rethink that relationship after watching last night’s programme.

I think this guy filmed with a number of our MPs as well and there is another episode to come.

There’s no point being too partisan about this. If the Christian fundies have connections with Labour MPs as well they need to be exposed.

Nibbster - care to explain what so obviously wrong about that statement ?
Man in a Shed said this on May 23rd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
Er, man in a shed, Christ is hailed as a prophet in Islam. Same status (ish) as Mohammed. But not god incarnate.
The Islamic apostate Christian who translates Islam (=peace) as HATE and gets cheers and congratulations from Nad’s crew is the one to worry about.

Yes,Man in a shed.Islam does not ‘reject’ Christ .I thought it was pretty obvious.
