Tories in secret plan to restructure South West

Browsing through the Tory website (as one does) I came across the Tories’ roadmap for government. Imagine my horror when I discovered that it includes moving nearly every single town in South West England for mysterious and unexplained purposes.

Godammit, even the Germans didn’t try that sort of malarkey! Or perhaps that’s what David Cameron means when he refers to “Broken Britain”.

Popular parliamentary figure, Luke Pollard, Labour’s candidate in South-West Devon, said;

“The Tories have never prioritised the South West and it’s a shame that they don’t even know where their own MPs are in Devon and Cornwall according to their website. If the Tories want the public to believe they are a party of government they could start with learning to read a map.

Some poor web designer is going to take the flack for this but the truth is the Tories have never really prioritised the needs of the people of Devon and Cornwall - Not when they were in Government and not in Opposition. But it’s ok because apparently they have a road map for government, it is just a shame it doesn’t seem to include the south west.”

  1. I would not describe Pollard as a “popular parliamentary figure”. Try as he might with that rounders thing, truth is we could organise a game of rounders anyway, and they don’t even bring a picnic.

  2. So Labour are on their lowest poll rating since opinion polls began, only 15% of the electorate are satisfied with Gordon Brown and the Tories creamed Labour in both the Local, London Mayoral and Creew & Nantwich elections. The parliamentary Labour party are in near open revolt with talk of stalking horses and leadership challenges all over. And all that Recess can find to blog about is a badly drawn up and irrelevent map.

That’s pathetic Alex, get real and address the political issue everyone else but you is talking about; the end of New Labour and the collapse of the Labour vote and Labour party.

  3. Ha ha what a bunch of imbiciles! If this was Scotland or Wales, people would be outraged! To me this kind of thing shows how out of touch that lot are. If they don’t know where the South West is, and they don’t have any regard for the North, Scotland or Wales, where exactly do the Tories claim to understand or represent? I’m thinking Marlowe.

  4. “Some poor web designer is going to take the flack for this but the truth is the Tories…blah blah…”. Desperate. Really desperate.

  5. I doubt we should be surprised by this revelation. Tory policies in the past shafted traditional employment in the South West, Cornwall in particular, and ensured poverty level wages for decades. Plymouth was raped by Devon County Council’s Tory rural landlord class for years. As for those here trumpeting a new dawn for the Tories they had best look at those of their blue ilk now running Plymouth City Council. A more desperate bunch of thickies and incompetents you could hardly wish to meet. Their nasty, snide, Thtcherite ways were laid bare this week in most of the national press for wanting to introduce draconian and intrusive pracices related to refuse collections. South west voters should take a leaf from their shared rural heritage and beware the wolf in sheep’s clothing!

  6. That shoud be sheep in wolfs clothing. The Torys in the southwest are still crap. and the Libdems far, far, craper.
(Is craper a real word?) Just look at Cornwall County Council.

  7. Hmmmm. So after 11 years of Labour Government the best anti-Tory argument is that some web geek put an extra number on a map of constituencies?

    Hold the front page everyone.

As for your man Pollard, hasn’t he got better things to do? Like finishing his homework or waiting for his balls to drop.

  8. Thay’ve updated the map now but still got it wrong..thears now six in Constituencys in Cornwall. If thay cant get this right after two attempts, droping the balls is now appers to be a tory policy. If thay get into goverment we’er fucked

  9. The new boundaries do not take effect until the next election. Cornwall only has five constituencies until Parliament is dissolved.

  10. Plymouth Tories have done 12 u-turns in twelve months. No wonder if Tory Central office is providing the route map! But then again, we’re still waiting to see where the Tories are taking the Council…

  11. Luke Pollart is a c***
