Was it something I said?

Iain Dalecroft has been at great pains to portray Tory eminence grise Lord Ashcroft’s new magazine as a cross-party vehicle, regularly citing the lefty credentials of editor Sarah MacKinlay.

Being such a non-partisan organ I was disappointed not to be invited to the launch of the paper, which costs £4 and is available here and there (though strangely not at the Westminster Book Store, which Dale used to run). And considering a supposed 30,000 copies were sent out for free, I’m embarrassed to admit that I was one of the few people not to receive a freebie copy. Quite stange when Dale’s egoblog reckons I’m responsible for the best and the fifth best Labour blogs of all time.

I can only imagine I have said some trifle of a thing that has upset the man who can boast being the mastermind behind David Davis’ leadership campaign.

I shall console myself with the knowledge that PubAffairs have landed Tory Politics as a sponsor for their summer party.

The PubAffairs do will be at 6.30pm on Thursday 26th June (TOMORROW!!) and I shall be seeking to make the biggest possible dent in Ashcroft’s billions, while consuming only Gin and peanuts.

If you would like to join me in this quest, get your name on the list by emailing phil@PubAffairs.org

Hopefully see you there!!
