“Didn’t we mention we were Tories?”



 

Recess Monkey feels a little duped by the opening paragraph of Donal Blarney’s Young Briton’s Foundation website (which comes a near second on a Google search to Young Black and Fabulous but the two are not to be confused).
The very first assertion on the website is that the group is non-partisan but one does get something of a hint that they have some political leanings:


 
Welcome to the Young Britons’ Foundation

The Young Britons’ Foundation is a non-partisan, not-for-profit educational, research and training organization that promotes conservatism in schools, colleges and universities. YBF identifies, recruits, trains and places philosophically sound conservative activists in politics, academia and the media. Many of the over 500 students already trained by the Young Britons’ Foundation since 2003 have gone on to become parliamentary candidates, local councillors, journalists, parliamentary researchers and academics. Others have developed successful careers in the City, professions, business or as entrepreneurs, from where they now support conservative causes.

The Young Britons’ Foundation offers a variety of opportunities to conservative activists including: [emphasis added]

 

Perhaps the bottom of the website could include a disclaimer:

“The Young Briton’s Foundation is not affiliated with any Western European country or general age group.”

  1. I’m sure they know ALL the words to ‘Tomorrow Belongs To Me.’
    Be interested to see how YBF places a ‘young conservative’ activist in the media.
    Perhaps Donal gets them a paper round.

  2. Not to defend YBF (I care little either way), but is it really possible that you are unable to appreciate the difference between “conservative” and “Conservative”?
