Boris Johnson - an apology

We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for publishing a grave and malicious falsehood.

Readers of yesterday’s post may have been under the impression that Boris Johnson hadn’t done anything in his first 100 days as London Mayor.

But we have been asked to point out that not only did Boris make the brave and difficult decision of paying £400,000 to Porshce but he’s also giving £7million to Venezuela for cancelling a deal that gave half-price travel to 80,000 of the poorest Londoners.

You’ll recall Boris had called the deal, which provides cheap fuel to fund subsidised travel on buses and trams, “completely Caracas.”

So we’d like to apologise for any distress caused to Mr Johnson and look forward to seeing his latest generous donation to a person he described as a “left-wing dictator” detailed on his official ”list of achievements.”

Gracias!

  1. Don’t forget the £1.6 million to just eight of Ken Livingstone’s advisors, after Ken slipped in a ’severance pay’ clause into their contracts - even though they are political appointees who automatically lose their jobs when the regime changes.

    I wouldn’t mind a £200k severance package.

  2. Boris abolished the ludicrous and revenue raising only £25 congestion charge! That is why he won.

  3. Don’t forget offending the nation of Norway! Or being able to read Latin, a vital boost to the downtrodden but Latin-loving people of London!

  4. Boris is already miles better than Livingstone ever was as mayor and not being a rabid anti semite is also less racist despite your half hearted attempts to paint him otherwise. As a Jew yourself Recess I remain surprised that you were, and are, so willing to ignore Livingstone’s apparent anti semitism. Perhaps you might care to explain?

  5. Don’t forget the new Routemasters as well! Oh, that’s right he already has. Now where’s that nice Mr Lewis got to?
