Iain Dalecroft, Publisher of Total Bollocks magazine has written a refutation of Tory Education Spokesman Michael Gove’s attack on Lads’ mags Nuts and Zoo.
Recess Monkey unearthed Gove’s hypocrisy earlier today by highlighting his receipt of campaign funds from the company that set up NutsTV (which is not a public service broadcaster in the usual sense of the term).
Here at Recess Monkey Corp we have had a team of investigative reporters recearching this story for weeks now. So it’s surprising that Dale omitted to mention the £1,500 received from Red Fig on 28th February 2005 by Norfolk North Conservative Association.
Now who was the Tory candidate in Norfolk North in 2005?
Oh well, at least Iain Dale knows which side his bread is buttered.

This story won’t make the national press ‘cos its exposing the Tories. Stuff like this only gets picked up if its hitting Labour. Still, keep it up Monkey. At least there’s one place we can come to read the truth about the Tories!

Love to hear Labour supporters moaning about the press when Gordon has been performing obscene acts on Murdoch and others for ages now. Over half the (very few) peolple who post on this site only do so to point out what aload of old toss it is. Labour’s self destruction is te big news. How can any sane individual back mentally unstable Brown, Harperson, Muppet’s Eagle Darling, the hideous Balls etc etc. Put ‘em all together and they are not a pretty picture.

Interesting stuff, but let’s decide do we think:
1) Politicians should only take money from people who agree with them.
2) Politicians should basically pay as little as attention as possible to who gives them money.
3) We should have state funding of politics.
4) Politicians should see themselves as employees of their donors.
Ok, presumably nobody thinks 4), but other than that it’s a tricky one. 3) would be hugely unpopular, 2) means that people like Michael Gove can get in a mess. 1) means that nobody believes that Iain Dale believes what he is saying. Lack of intellectual clarity on this point means that Recess Monkey can get into a mess by appearing to argue at the same time that someone should both be influenced and not influenced by money given. This problem isn’t unique to the Conservative party, other parties have donors too. I would be more impressed if this blog picked on one of them and argued a strong case for why that person was in the wrong.
