The Deputy Leader of Barking & Dagenham Council, Liam Smith, is in hot water after calling the mother of a political opponent a “Fucking fat dyke”.
The Labour Councillor, who works for Jon Cruddas MP, must now be thrown out of the Labour Party for his abusiveness and evident homophobia - except I fear that Labour’s ruling NEC may not have the stomach to do what needs to be done. The neighbouring borough of Redbridge boasts one Councillor Mohammed Javed, who was found guilty of telling a Conservative councillor that he wanted to rape her yet still managed to stay in the Labour Party despite refusing even to apologise for his actions.
At least there’s the possibility he will lose his platform for attacking Labour MPs.

Guido. As Praguetory notes, the subject of his abuse is not known to be a lesbian. Therefore, he was raising homosexuality as a term of abuse, rather than in a descriptive manner. In this context, he was being homophobic - though I’d like to see him ejected for bringing the party into disrepute for his homophobia and his abusiveness.
I’m not sure that skirt-chasers are going to feel you are inciting hatred against them by describing me as one (however inaccurately)

I see that you subscribe to the Leftie point of view that the seriousness of the insult depends on the level of offence that is taken. Doesn’t that encourage people to take offence?

fat isn’t necceserily an insult he might have ment it in a nice way the resignation is inevitable but having him ousted form labour seems excesive considering that people in the party have done a lot worse
