So McCain has decided to choose a pro-life, gun-loving ex-beauty queen from Alaska as his running mate.
Looking at Fox News doing two ways after the announcement, it seems just as much thought went into choosing the venue for this historic unveiling.

But alarmingly apposite.

It’s a big mistake on McCain’s part IMHO. Palin may well be a woman, but she’s a woman whose politics are pretty rubbish. Is this ticket really going to scoop up disgruntled Clinton voters? Doubt it.

Remember what they said about Joe Biden - that the fact he had been chosen prooves that they were right to say Obama was too young.
The fact she has been chosen prooves that people were right to say McCain is too old.

Perhaps the choice of the Nutter Centre is just another comment upon the current debate as to the mental health, or alleged lack of it, of Gordon Brown.
