Cold war in Tory blogdom

There was a time when Total Politics supremo, Iain Dalecroft, used to be 18 Doughty Street supremo Iain Dalespeare.

Now I never did get to the bottom of what happened to 18 Doughty Street and the frosting over of the relationships therein, but I have noticed a big advert on Stephan Shakespeare’s new venture PoliticsHome.

Promoting some sort of marginal seats polling, the ad is an electoral map of a largely Tory swathe of England, the most prominent exception being a yellow blotch on Norfolk North, the site of a national swing defying 8.5% swing against the Tories at the 2005 General Election.

Surely it can’t have passed Stephan by that his old colleague Iain Dale was the Tory candidate in Norfolk North?

  1. Like it. Mind you, today, Daves bicycle could stand as the Tory pcc and get voted in.
