Have you seen this man?

PICTURE REMOVED DUE TO COURT INJUNCTION

This picture is reputed to be “investigative reporter” Mazher Mahmood, the News of the World’s scourge of politicians, royals and England football managers alike.

Despite my general distaste for George Galloway, I have just a little warmth in the pit of my stomach knowing that he’s got one over on the self-styled “Fake Sheikh” after reporting him to the police for attempting to corrupt a member of parliament.

Not too subtle picking George Galloway - what did he do? Offer him some barrels of oil?

I have been upset with him ever since he outed a Sports & Social Club barmaid as a £500-a-night hooker with a sideline in cocaine supply. That closed the bar for a fortnight and we haven’t had any all-night lock-ins since!

Anyway, can all staff please pass this article to their employers to ensure they are forewarned should a bloke in a sheet come bearing wedges of cash.

UPDATE: below is the original e-mail send by Gorgeous, with a couple of less than flattering responses from MPs:

Dear Colleague

You may have read of my encounter with the man known as the “fake sheikh” Mazhar Mahmood, aka Pervez Khan from the News of the World.

The anatomy of his attempted entrapment of me (they hoped to meet Jeremy Corbyn MP next) can be found at the Guardian unlimited website on the comment is free blog.

I am enclosing a copy of two photographs of this man whose conduct Mr Speaker deplored last week in order that you be on your guard should he ever try to approach you.

Yours sincerely

George Galloway MP

George,

I suppose this just goes to show that it takes one imposter to spot another. After all, you managed to persuade the people of Bethnal Green and Bow that you would be a hard-working local MP.

George,

How about working for the people who elected you rather than whinging on about your over inflated ego?

  1. Pervez Khan (aka Mazher Mahmood, aka The Fake Sheik)Guido published an image of the notorious ‘Fake Sheik’ last Thursday. Recess Monkey also published the image, but has now removed it following a gagging order from News of the World. There’s a very good question here: On what grounds…

  2. Sort of like a political version of MTVs Celebrity Death Match. Galloway vs. Mahmood.
Monkey, ur only pissed off because you weren’t propping up the Sports bar when that barmaid was offering to put the ‘bush’ into your regular ‘bushmill’. also i remember ur old trick of staying sober by doing the one drink, then coke, then drink, then coke.
    Eventually, it all makes sense…

  3. Nice one! Keep up the good fight …

  4. Mazher MahmoodJust doing my bit… The pictures in this entry may or may not be likenesses of Mazher Mahmood, the so-called “fake sheikh.” Via Fake Sheikh.

For background, see The BBC (recent articles apparently removed), The Guardian, Obsolete, Obsolete again,…

  5. On what grounds should the sheikh be protected? He is a prankster, a practical joker, and is claiming anonymity. Why should he be protected by law? It doesn’t make sense. If he feels his job is putting him in danger then he shouldn’t do it. It’s not as if the public asked him to do it. He chose it. And I am sure he gets well paid for it.
